The Rays of Light that have Brought Our Mission to Life

Senior Center Garden
At the entrance of the center sat an old garden filled with cinder blocks and overgrown weeds. Thanks to volunteers and funding from Sunshine for Seniors, this space has been completely renewed into a welcoming and beautiful garden.
With the help of dedicated volunteers, the cinder blocks and weeds were cleared away, and fresh flowers and plants now bring life and color to the space. What was once neglected is now a place of beauty and joy for seniors to enjoy each day.
We are grateful to the youth and adults who took the initiative to restore this space and bring a little more sunshine to the Lakeview community’s seniors!

Experience Greece Culture Night
The Shepherd Center is dedicated to enriching the lives of seniors through programs and resources that inspire connection, learning, and joy. Thanks to the Cluny Grant, Sunshine for Seniors was able to help sponsor their special “Experience Greece” event.
Seniors explored the history, art, music, and culture of Greece. They admired photos of stunning islands, painted seaside landscapes, while enjoying traditional Greek music. The event concluded with a Greek food fest — with dishes for everyone to taste.
This celebration brought both learning and laughter, and we are grateful for the volunteers who brought this event to life!
